Update - For your information

Dear Valued Customers,

I thought I would give you all a bit of an update.

During the pandemic my daughter turned 21, and I turned 50. In lockdown and unable to organise a dinner, let alone a party, I promised her, in lieu of a gift, or party, a ticket to Malta. Fast forward to a few month’s ago when my daughter came up to me, showing me V.I.P tickets to a 3 day music festival in Malta. Of course I then had to cough up for her airfare. Little did I envisage that the flights would have skyrocketed to what they are today.

Shortly after, my dad decided that he wanted to go to Malta too. Some of you may be aware that he is nearly 80 and not in the best of health, and truthfully, should not be travelling in his condition. But, he is after all Maltese, and extremely stubborn. Having said that, I also go by the motto, “live, and let live” so far be it for me to try and persuade him otherwise.

Consequently, we are now all going to Malta, with the help of my parents, including my son who recently split from his girlfriend. Truth be known, there is no way I could afford this trip given the current economic climate. More on that later……

I will be away from 21 May for four weeks, and I will be treating this as a holiday, enjoying the time with my adult children and my parents. Something tells me I do not have many, if any, of these holidays left. My kids already have their own lives, and as for my parents, well, Lord only knows. Of course, I will also be shopping around for some goodies to ship back here.A

I will still work remotely and my wonderful ex-husband will be here to hold the fort. He will carry out the Sydney deliveries on a Saturday. We will also be open on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday for customer pickups.

I will be doing a lot of thinking in Malta, and will no doubt be making a few changes to this business upon my return. With the economy the way it is, I don’t mind telling you my business is struggling. The cost of living has increased, and with me predominantly baking biscuits, these are a luxury item in such times. I love what I do here at Escape To Malta Eats, and will always have it, in some way, shape or form. I’m just not sure of what capacity at this time.

In the meantime, please support my business where you can, we’re all in this together and I value your custom very much.
